After sleeping over 10 hours in recovery, I think I’m recuperated! Church camp was a blast, and I am so so thankful and blessed that I was able to go this year.
So it’s been 6 years since I’ve gone to church camp, and the schedule has changed dramatically. I don’t like it as well, but everything worked out. If you read my last post, you know that I was the Jr. High girls camp leader. We didn’t have that many Sr. High girls though, so I ended up just doing my lessons with everyone. I felt like everything went really well as far as lessons go, but my real hope is that the girls got something from them to take home and apply. However, I take comfort in God’s Word:
- 10″For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11.So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
I can not say enough how wonderful and beautiful they were! I loved watching them learn and have a heart for God. The theme this year was “#thestory.” The kids learned about how to write and share their testimony, and I think incorporating the social media aspect of it really helped resonated with them. We had a few students who made decisions, which was awesome. I loved that they trusted me enough to pour their hearts out to me.
Overall, we really had a blast. I feel so blessed that I was given the opportunity to impact the lives of these special kids. My God is so good, and I thank Him for it. Until next year, I pray when those students come off their “church camp high,” they will continue to pursue God and that I will continue to lead those around me.
